Formed in central Florida during November of 2000, nu metalcore outfit CALM (Creating Aspiring Living Music) quickly developed an impressive style initially inspired by acts from Relative Ash and Deftones to Poison the Well and Glassjaw. The quintet tracked three EPs at the legendary Morrisound Recording with renowned engineer Tom Morris—CALM (2001), Ascending to Twenty Five (2002), and In a Place Called Perfect (2003)—and performed live alongside a range of artists such as Mudvayne, Chimara, 36 Crazyfists, God Forbid, Twiztid, and Evergreen Terrace.

This increasing profile eventually caught the attention of a number of labels—including Tribunal Records—and CALM ultimately made the leap to the iconic roster of Metal Blade Records, renaming the band Phoenix Mourning for the release of lone 2006 full-length, When Excuses Become Antiques.

Now, two decades later, Tribunal Records is beyond thrilled to finally have the opportunity to work with CALM for the release of When the Sky Falls—a 12-song discography CD documenting the group's initial three EPs. Newly remastered by Jamie King Audio, the disc will be limited to just 300 copies with a booklet including complete lyrics and fan-submitted artwork. Reflecting on the opportunity, guitarist Ahmed Smith stated, "It's amazing! Hard to believe it's been over 20 years. I can still remember tracking each song on every EP.  It's very heartwarming to see the response to the material after all these years..."
