DARKNESS REMAINS - Lamia
It all started with their debut release, To Touch The Depths Of Sorrow, as DARKNESS REMAINS was thrust into the metal spotlight. The praise they received was widespread, and it could have easily gone straight to their young heads, but fortunately it didn’t. Instead they continued laboring and constructing the material that would eventually become their massive sophomore release, Lamia. Lamia took five months to complete and consists of six tracks with a running time of almost 50 minutes. The word “epic” instantly comes to mind, but it cannot completely describe the magnitude of talent that this band possesses.
DARKNESS REMAINS as musicians are technically proficient with an astute sense of melody, all the while being fully versed in the ability to craft well structured songs. Lamia covers so much ground within its duration, touching on melodic/technical death metal, black metal and vintage 80’s thrash. Its appeal will surely expand across all genres of metal resulting in a broadening fan base that will develop quickly upon its release. DARKNESS REMAINS could be compared to the likes of Opeth, Death, Emperor & Metallica.
